Bidvest company, Konica Minolta South Africa, recently came to the aid of The Talk Shop, a pre-school for children with speech and language development needs, by printing the pages needed for its charity recipe book.Based in Bryanston in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg, The Talk Shop was founded 11 years ago, with the aim of providing a fun and interactive nursery school environment, where these very special children can thrive. In order to raise funds to help children whose families are unable to provide this vital therapeutic intervention at such a young age, The Talk Shop decided to create its own unique recipe book, entitled: “More, please!” The proceeds from the sale of this book will go towards maintaining a bursary fund, which enables two children per year to receive full tuition at no cost.

Elana Fine, project co-ordinator, for the “More, please!” recipe book initiative, approached Konica Minolta South Africa in the hope that it would cover the printing costs. She says: “The Talk Shop employs six teachers, six speech and language therapists, two physiotherapists and six teaching assistants. The system really works and children are able to take meaningful roles in society; however, tuition and therapy costs are high and this often excludes less advantaged children. Konica Minolta South Africa’s offer to print the recipe books for us has made a huge impact on the financial success of this initiative. We are incredibly grateful to the company, and the staff of the Johannesburg branch, for coming to our aid.”

Mario Nunes, sales manager at Konica Minolta South Africa’s Johannesburg branch, continues: “We were delighted to help The Talk Shop with its printing requirements for this project. In total, we printed 60 000 double-sided, A4 pages for the recipe book on our bizhub PRESS B1052, which handled the job with ease. The Talk Shop team takes care of every child and ensures that each child reaches his or her full potential, and we were thrilled to be able to assist them in this endeavour.”
